The world's oldest civilization, Sindhu, settled and flourished in Indus Valley in the Northwestern India and two of the world's large religions are founded in the lower Himalayas, Hinduism and Buddhism. Against this backdrop the lower Himalayas contains several Holy sites and places that are sacred to many people. In the footsteps of the Lord Buddha in Nepal and the overland drive starting from Nepal to the seat of Lord Shiva in Mount Kailash, Tibet are worthy endeavors, and very popular.
